About Sebastian Boesmi Sebastian Boesmi ( 1980 ) describes his work as the study of the relationship between the micro and macro. Interested in our collective imagination, Sebastian believes that someone should see a work and relate to it, creating a new personal image that reflects something within themselves while somehow drawing from and adding to an abstract map of our collective understanding.

In 2018 the Matisse Prize celebrates 20 years, for this reason on October 25 there was a commemorative show with the works of the 20 artists who won the First Prize. The event took place in the Residence of the Embassy of France in Asunción, Paraguay.

Sebastián Boesmi has gained international recognition throughout his career, and is currently showing his recent works as part of his second exhibition in this gallery in Gràcia until the middle of the month. His abstract canvases are an explosion of colour, lines and figures, and aim to run a fine line between reality and imagination—they are certainly pieces to contemplate.

Represented by Espai.B Gallery Boesmi has showed his work in the SWAB Art Fair in 2013. Swab Barcelona was founded in 2006 as an initiative of Diezy7 Contemporary Art Collection, in Barcelona. From its inception it has had the support of important national and international galleries as well as the Ajuntament de Barcelona and the Generalitat de Catalunya.

The official launch of the limited edition of Brama "Life in Color Limited Edition" was made, with the intervention of the plastic artist Sebastián Boesmi, who made a work on a canvas of 10x10 meters for which a lot of paint. Boesmi also designed the new can of brahma limited edition and his art was in the graphic image of the festival Life in Colors

Not long ago they recommended the work of Sebastián Boesmi, coinciding with his participation in a collective within the Barcelona KKKB that, in my opinion, has been one of the coolest exhibitions of what we have been in 2012.

The Migliorisi Foundation and the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Asunción inaugurated last Friday the exhibition of Sebastian Boesmi's visual artist, called "Phylogeny". The artistic exhibition is composed almost entirely with works belonging to private collections of Asunción.

Sebastian Boesmi attended workshops of painting at The Art Student League of New York, United States.UU. and Cite international des Arts in Paris, France, wood cut in the Centre of Brazilian studies, Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts from the National University of Asunción, Paraguay. Lives and works in Barcelona. Master Dabblers met up with Sebastian in Berlin while he recently finished a residency at MARMA Projects.

Drawings and more drawings, little characters, graphics that multiply and intermingle until almost no longer you distinguish where the figurative begins and where the stain. And then the question comes to you; Is this a tangle of little men and letters piled up or a fantastic composition of colors and abstract forms?We invite you to draw conclusions.

The first European exhibition of Boesmi was in Paris, France in 2010. The Gallery Hebert of Paris showed his collection of paintings developed in the artistic residence of Le Citê Internacional des Arts, located in the famous Rue de Rivoli.
